The Kansas City Chiefs are a professional American football team located in Kansas City, Missouri; they are currently affiliated with the American Football Conference (AFC) West Division of the National Football League; their summer training camp is held at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls campus .
The Chiefs were formerly the Dallas Texans. This team was founded by Lamar Hunter in 1959. It competed for the first time in 1960[1] and belonged to the American Football League (AFL) at the time; in 1963, With the promise of better ticket sales by Kansas City Mayor H. Robato, the team moved to Kansas City and changed its name to the Chiefs; after the merger of the American Football League and the National Football League, the Chiefs joined the American Football League. The Chiefs defeated the Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl IV in 1969, becoming the second AFC team to defeat an NFC team in the Super Bowl (the first being the New York Jets).
In 2018, the team's market value was US$2.1 billion, ranking tied for 43rd among the top 50 teams in the world, and ranking 24th in the NFL.
