The Los Angeles Chargers (also translated as the Los Angeles Chargers and the Los Angeles Chargers) are a professional American football team in the greater Los Angeles area of the United States. The Chargers compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member of the American Football Conference (AFC) West Division. The team's home stadium is SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, which it shares with the Los Angeles Rams.

The Chargers were founded in Los Angeles in 1959 and began playing as a member of the American Football League (AFL) in 1960. They spent their first season in Los Angeles before moving to San Diego in 1961 and changing their name to the San Diego Chargers. After the merger of the AFL and NFL in 1970, the team joined the NFL. In 2017, the Chargers moved back to Los Angeles after 56 seasons in San Diego. The team played its games at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum during its first season in Los Angeles. After moving to San Diego played games at Balboa Stadium and San Diego Stadium. During the construction of SoFi Stadium from 2017 to 2019, the team played at Dignity Health Sports Park.

In 2018, the team's market value was US$2.275 billion, ranking 38th among the top 50 teams in the world and 22nd in the NFL.
