The Chicago Bears (English: Chicago Bears) are a professional American football team. Located in Chicago, Illinois. It is currently a team in the National Football League's National League North Division. They have won nine American football championships, including eight in the old National Football League and one Super Bowl championship (1985). The team was founded in 1919 in Decatur, Illinois, and named the Decatur Stanley; in 1921, it moved to Chicago and was renamed the Chicago Stanley; later founder George Harless used $100 from sponsorship. The team was purchased by a businessman and renamed the Chicago Bears, which is still in use today; in 1971, the team began playing their home games at Soldier Field. Their old rival is the Green Bay Packers.
